The Preppy Pretzel™ is the most authentically and traditionally handcrafted, best tasting soft pretzel you will find on this side of the Atlantic! All of our gourmet pretzels are made with a generations-old, family recipe from the Tyrolean alps, where Daniela (founder) learned to make her pretzels as a small child. Our pretzels are baked fresh daily, hand rolled, hand twisted and hand dipped in small batches using centuries old, European artisanal techniques.
We use all-natural ingredients in our pretzel dough: a proprietary blend of locally milled flour (unbleached and non-GMO), diastatic malt, butter (made in house or locally sourced), yeast, salt and water. We DO NOT use sugar or eggs/egg wash in our pretzels. By custom order, we can switch out the butter for oil to provide a dairy free/vegan pretzel.
We locally source as many ingredients as possible for our specialty pretzels, sandwiches, pretzel cones/bombs and more. Meats, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, grains, honey, herbs and more are produced on local farms, purchased from our farmers market vendor neighbors or grown directly by us.
We offer custom, staffed pretzel bars in our adorable Pretzel Buggy for weddings, private/corporate events, birthday parties and more! We participate year-round at several weekly farmers markets around the DMV as well as regional festivals/popular events such as the tree lighting in D.C, Georgetown FallFest, Cherry Blossom Festival and Christmas in Middleburg.
We will be offering retail hours, cooking classes, private party packages and more at our new storefront opening late summer 2026.
