It may have been the thickest stretch of the August heat — ninety‑five degrees in the shade, no breeze, and another storm in the forecast — but a beautiful evening made the setting feel even more like a gift for the August Biz Buzz, hosted by Middleburg Life at Greenhill Winery’s Manor House.

Middleburg Life first hit doorsteps in April 1983 and, forty‑six years later, continues to share the best of Hunt Country living with more than forty thousand readers each month. Now under Greenhill Media, it remains a steady voice for the community.

“Thank you for coming tonight,” welcomed Kaitlin Hill, Editor-in-Chief. “Thank you to Punkin and MBPA, and to Greenhill Winery for being such gracious partners.”

“We appreciate you all being readers, advertisers, and for supporting the magazine as you’ve done for the past forty-plus years,” she continued. “We are here, the door is always open, we love community feedback and are so thankful to know old friends and meet new ones.”

MBPA Updates

The 20th annual Summer Sidewalk Sale was a smashing success the weekend of July 31 to August 2! After a live Fox5 DC segment that drew more than twenty thousand viewers to the sidewalk sale trailer, the weekend delivered exactly what organizers hoped for.

“Mother Nature gave us great weather for Friday and Saturday, and much needed rain on Sunday didn’t stop the shoppers” said Punkin Lee, MBPA President. “We had lots of first-time visitors who happened to be in the right place on the right day.”

The busy stretch continued the following Tuesday with National Night Out, which brought an estimated crowd of just over one thousand people, for an evening of family fun and catching up with longtime friends and neighbors.

“Many thanks to Chief Shaun Jones and the Middleburg Police Department staff for hosting this wonderful event, which gets bigger and better every year, Punkin shared. “The free hot dogs and snow cones just keep on coming!”

Country ZEST & Style, the sporting‑life publication so many enjoy, is celebrating its tenth anniversary, while Common Grounds is now in its fourteenth year,” Punkin announced to applause. “Middleburg business truly runs on longevity, and the community is grateful for everything these shops bring to town.”

“It may be August, but the MBPA board is already deep into planning for the Halloween Parade, the Tree Lighting, Jingle in the ’Burg, and anything else the community needs,” Punkin continued. “Looking a bit further ahead, next spring the foxes will be back on the fence for display and online bidding. We hope local businesses will sign on to take part. Proceeds from Foxes on the Fence support Middleburg Beautification and Preservation.”

New Members

MBPA welcomed new members Band Gap AI, Four Lucky Ducks Farm, Thomson & Cooke Architects, and Brian Valencia, the new Manager at Tom Beckbe.
