Independence Day in Middleburg
Celebrate Independence Day in Middleburg on Saturday, July 4, as the community comes together for a full day of patriotic fun in honor of America’s 250th birthday. Festivities begin at noon with the National Anthem, Presentation of Colors, and a reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Middleburg Museum. Throughout the afternoon, families can enjoy free swimming, games, hot dogs, and popsicles at the Middleburg Community Center, along with a live painting demonstration at the Artists in Middleburg Gallery by local artist Matt Pavone.
The beloved Kids’ Parade steps off at 5:30 pm from the Middleburg Community Center, led by Police Chief Shaun Jones. Kids and kids at heart are invited to decorate their bikes, wagons, and even themselves in red, white, and blue before making their way to the evening celebration at the Middleburg Community Charter School. Live music by SOZZLED, food trucks, local vendors, and a community gathering will keep the party going until the night concludes with Middleburg’s largest-ever fireworks display at approximately 9:15 pm. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and join neighbors and friends for an unforgettable Fourth of July in the heart of Middleburg!

Equine Sculpture Workshop
Horse lovers and aspiring artists alike are invited to experience the Equine Sculpture Workshop with renowned sculptor Goksin Carey, hosted by The Artists in Middleburg from July 6-10. This immersive five-day workshop welcomes students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced sculptors, with individualized instruction designed to help each participant develop their understanding of equine anatomy, conformation, and movement.
Held in an intimate setting with a maximum of 10 students, the workshop includes hands-on sculpting, a visit to a local barn to study horse conformation, and the opportunity to complete a foundry-ready horse sculpture. Carey, an internationally recognized equine sculptor and longtime instructor, has been teaching in Middleburg since 2014 and is known for her engaging approach that helps students bring the beauty and spirit of the horse to life through sculpture. Whether you’re looking to explore a new artistic passion or refine your skills, this unique workshop offers an unforgettable creative experience!

Sportsman of Revolution: George Washington and Fun at the Founding

Free & Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic at Middleburg Humane Foundation
Keep your pets healthy this summer at the Middleburg Humane Foundation’s Free & Low-Cost Drive-up Vaccine Clinic on Saturday, July 18, from 9 am to noon in Marshall. Thanks to a grant from Petco Love, dogs can receive free DAPP vaccinations and cats can receive free FVRCP vaccinations, while rabies vaccines and microchips will be available for a nominal fee. The clinic is open rain or shine, making it an easy and affordable way for pet owners to keep their furry family members protected.
The drive-up format allows pet owners to receive essential preventative care without leaving their vehicles, and pre-registration is encouraged to help streamline the process. Whether your pet is due for routine vaccinations or needs a microchip for added safety, the clinic offers a convenient opportunity to access quality veterinary care while helping protect the health of pets throughout the community.

A Celebration for Leven Powell, Founder of Middleburg
