MBPA gathered in the Pink Box Garden at the Middleburg Museum & Visitors Center on a gorgeous autumn evening to celebrate all things Biz Buzz!
“It’s wonderful to see the Museum back at The Pink Box, a cherished part of our town’s history,” said Punkin Lee, MBPA President. “The Museum’s mission is to record, preserve, and share the history of Middleburg, starting from Leven Powell and continuing into the future.”
Dorsey deButts is now the President of the Museum’s Board of volunteers, and they’ve organized some fantastic programs over the summer while relocating everything back to The Pink Box. In September, they celebrated the installation of the first section of the named brick sidewalk.
“If you see Tony Thomas, please thank him for his generous contribution to the Museum in honor of Eura Lewis,” Punkin explained. “Dorsey will be happy to share more about the Museum’s plans going forward and is also here to sell more bricks this evening.” Click here to purchase a brick!
“We are so happy to have you here at The Middleburg Museum and Visitors’ Center,” said Doersey deButts, chair of the Museum Board. ” We invite you to go into the Museum, ask questions and give feedback; that’s what we need! Share your ideas and your stories!”
She continued, “On your way into the Museum, look at the brick path- you can buy a brick here or order online to support the Museum and its programming. We have events throughout the year and attendees want to know about your businesses, so please leave your pamphlets and information with us to share.”

Town Updates
“As if we don’t have enough going on in Middleburg, there is more!” laughed Ali MacIntyre, Director of Business and Economic Development for the Town of Middleburg. “The Fall Races are Saturday, followed by the Middleburg Film Festival- festival tickets are available on MiddleburgFilm.org.”
“Additionally, we have the Mille Miglia from October 22nd through 27th, which is our biggest event for the month of October! We hope that you will join us for all of the festivities!”
The Town of Middleburg is implementing a new no-fee sidewalk sign permit application requirement: The Town Council adopted a no-fee permit program to allow businesses to place portable signs adjacent
to their storefronts.
The permit requirement was instituted in order to ensure that such signs are compatible with the Historic District and that safe, accessible sidewalks are maintained while also providing additional visibility for the Town’s valued businesses.
A permit is required for ALL sidewalk signs. While some signs that have been displayed in the past
without a permit may be able to be permitted, others may not meet requirements due to size, material
and/or placement. There is no “grandfathering” for signs that do not meet the permit requirements.
