“We’re so glad to have you here tonight, hosted by Atlantic Union branch manager Natalie Lacaze and the wonderful team at the bank,” MBPA President Punkin Lee greeted Members and guests. “Can you believe how quickly 2024 is flying by? A big thank you to Natalie and the staff for hosting us this evening!”
“Thank you all for coming, and a huge thank you to the staff here at the bank for helping this evening,” said Natalie Lacaze, Middleburg Branch Manager. “Community is everything here in Middleburg and at the bank. You know where to find us if you need anything!”
“NOMAD just opened last week,” Punkin announced. “Right now, they’re welcoming visitors Thursday through Sunday. Be sure to stop by and say hello to Brad and Bob—they’ve put in a lot of hard work to get this off the ground.”
“Additionally, Tom Beckbe has also opened its doors on North Madison Street, and soon, they’ll have a new front entrance on Washington Street, so swing by and meet Manuel and Nicky. It’s a beautiful shop you won’t want to miss. Sadly, we’ll be saying goodbye to the Middleburg Bride Shop on November 15th. We’ll certainly miss the shop and the gorgeous windows that added so much charm to our town.”

MBPA Updates
If you were in town for Halloween, you saw the incredible turnout for the parade! Chief Jones was already at the post office when the tail end of the line was still at the Playroom. Everyone was having a great time, and there were some truly amazing costumes—many with family themes. The weather was perfect, and over 700 hot dogs were served by the Community Center.
MBPA wrapped up the annual Kids’ Coat Drive, which collected over 70 jackets for children in need. Special thanks are due to Robin at Posh Pixies, who worked with one of her vendors to get jackets at a 50% discount, and to Gene’s congregation at Emmanuel Episcopal Church for raising the funds to make it happen. It’s heartwarming to see the community come together like this!
The Byrne Gallery is marking 29 years of incredible exhibitions. Their annual Yuri Gorbachev Holiday Exhibition runs through December 31st, so don’t miss it!
Seven Loaves Food Pantry is celebrating 30 years of service to our community. They’ll celebrate at Greenhill Winery on November 20th. Tami and her team have been feeding an average of 100 families every week, and their work is truly inspiring.
On November 23rd, Loudoun Therapeutic Riding will celebrate 50 years of providing equine-assisted services to children and adults with special needs. Congratulations to LTR for recently receiving the Washington International Horse Show’s Honor and Service Award, recognizing their dedication to this wonderful cause.
Enjoy live performances at 50 West Vineyards, the Middleburg Library, and the Community Center (including a performance of The Nutcracker on November 17th).
Check out the latest at the Museum of Hounds and Hunting, where local artist Cathy Zimmerman is showcasing her scenes of the Piedmont, plus, catch J. Douglas at Aim for the Art Tribe and spend a relaxing afternoon at the National Sporting Library & Museum for Sunday Sketch.
Holiday shopping is quickly approaching! Don’t miss the holiday shopping opportunities at Emmanuel’s Christmas Shop, running from November 22–24 at the Parish House, and shop local on Small Business Saturday, November 30th.
Before we get to Thanksgiving, head to Boxwood Winery on November 18th for their Easy as Pie wine pairing event. The Community Center will host its annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on November 21st, and Oak Spring Garden Foundation is holding a Harvest Farm-to-Table Dinner on November 23rd. For a hands-on touch, join the Middleburg Library for a Harvest Centerpiece Workshop with Oak Spring Garden Foundation on November 26th.
If you’re not in the mood to cook, treat yourself to a Thanksgiving feast at Hunters Head, Goodstone, or choose from two different Thanksgiving options at Salamander Resort—a grand buffet or a festive feast at Harrimans.
The holiday magic is starting, and Santa will be making an appearance at the Middleburg Library on November 30th. Ho-ho-ho!
There’s still time to sign up for the annual Holiday Window Decorating Contest! The deadline has been extended to this Friday. Decorations need to be completed by Wednesday, December 4th, and you’ll be able to vote for your favorites via QR code on the posters.
Thanks to everyone who continues to support our community—November is shaping up to be an exciting and busy month. Remember that our customers are special – a warm smile and an engaging welcome can go a long way. Also, we don’t want to forget the folks who help us all – UPS Mike, Fed Ex Andy, the post office – and others who help us all year and especially get us through the holidays!
Town Updates
“Thank you to all who came out for Mille Miglia,” said Ali McIntyre from the Town of Middleburg. “So many people helped out! I am very grateful to be here and very grateful to all of you who help make this community so special.”
She continued, “The State of the Town address by Mayor Littleton will be Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 6 pm at the Town Hall. There will be a Q&A session, so please be sure to ask questions!”
“Punkin and I will again be coordinating business parking for Christmas in Middleburg Day on December 7th,” Ali explained. “This year, we have very limited parking and have fewer spaces than we have had in previous years. All businesses will receive an email by November 15th so we can begin planning. When you request spaces, please only ask for what you need. If you end up having a space you do not need, please let me know!”
Parking passes will be distributed the week of December 2, 2024.
As of November 22nd, the Town of Middleburg is implementing a new no-fee sidewalk sign permit application requirement: The Town Council adopted a no-fee permit program to allow businesses to place portable signs adjacent to their storefronts. If you haven’t applied for your permit yet, please click here.
