Ahhhh, the slow and gentle month of August is upon us in Middleburg! August is the border between summer and the soon-to-be born autumn, and we have lots in store for you in our teeny, tiny town.
The month kicks off with the 18th Annual Summer Sidewalk Sale, August 2-4, and meanders along with National Night Out, new and exciting exhibits, local farmer’s markets teeming with fresh produce and artisan creations, a cooking class weekend, a country hoedown and more!
Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy all that Middleburg has to offer as we look towards a change of seasons.

Join the Middleburg Police Department on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 6pm-8pm at the Middleburg Community Center ballfield for food, fun, games, and prizes – everything is FREE.

Take advantage of the twice-weekly opportunities to enjoy farm-fresh produce, baked goods, artisan creations, live music and more at our area farmer’s markets!
The Buchanan Hall Market runs Wednesdays from 4:30-7:30 pm through October.
The Town of Middleburg Farmer’s Market is hosted every Saturday from 9 am-12 pm at the Town Hall through October 26.

Grilling Cooking Class Weekend at Briar Patch B&B
Learn something new by spending a weekend cooking with Briar Patch B&B during the Grilling Cooking Class Weekend August 9-11.
The class features Chef Doron Haendel and Chef Amanda Baden. Chef Doron will enlighten you on the ins and outs of using a grill for grilling, smoking, and reheating. Chef Amanda, the consummate baker, will teach you how to make amazing desserts (not on the grill). Wines and beer will be served.
Limited spaces available for locals for the cooking class only with no overnight stay.
Sandra Massie Forbush: Lifetime Art Exhibit at MHHNA
The Museum of Hounds and Hunting North America is honored to present Sandra Massie Forbush: Lifetime Art on exhibit showcasing her paintings on loan from private collectors. The art show is open through September 1, 2024.
Sandra Forbush is a highly acclaimed career portrait painter working exclusively in oils. Sandra’s unique background as a horseman gives her an edge in understanding animal anatomy. Her commissions include a long list of private clients, as well as numerous horse shows and steeplechases.
Horse Country Hoedown at Middleburg Community Center
The Middleburg Community Center invites you, your friends and family to have a country-fied good time at the Horse Country Hoedown on August 16 from 7-10 pm!
Learn how to two-step and square dance under expert guidance from Rapid Felicities. These professional instructors offer historical social dance instruction and events to people of all ages in the Northern Virginia region.
