The year 1777 was a crucial year for General Washington and the Continental Army. As they faced down the British Army at the Battle of Brandywine, Fauquier, Prince William, and Loudoun County men of the 3rd Virginia Regiment fought with vigor against impossible odds. Their defiant stand helped win crucial time for Washington’s army and may have saved the American cause.
