Linda Jane Holden will discuss her book, The Gardens of Bunny Mellon, which celebrates the life and work of renowned garden designer Rachel “Bunny” Mellon, featuring her private gardens at estates like Oak Spring and public projects like the White House Rose Garden, illustrated with her sketches and photographs. Holden, who interviewed Mellon extensively before her death, provides a biography and guide to Mellon’s influential, self-taught style, which blended humility with impeccable taste across numerous homes and for friends like Hubert de Givenchy.
