Be among the first to experience The American Five, a powerful new play exploring the untold story behind the March on Washington and Dr. King’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech—before its world premiere in D.C.
Written by Chess Jakobs and directed by Aaron Posner, the play follows Dr. King, Coretta Scott King, Bayard Rustin, Stanley Levison, and Clarence B. Jones as they confront surveillance, doubt, and risk to shape a message that would change history.
Featuring performances by Ro Boddie, Renea S. Brown, Stephen Conrad Moore, Aaron Bliden, and Yao Dogbe—all in their Ford’s Theatre debut.
Enjoy food, wine, and hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening, plus a post-show Q&A with the playwright and director.
