Please join MHHNA on Friday, December 20 for a book signing event with author Julie Ulrich. She will be signing her newest book, “Packing My Bags: Two Sides to the Story of a Life with Horses”. An opportunity to get a last-minute Christmas gift for your friends and family horse lovers.
Julie is a gifted and spirited storyteller and will give an Author Talk at 4 pm followed by a reception till 7 pm. Books are available for purchase at the museum gift shop.
Julie Ulrich, formerly of Middleburg, VA, is a lifelong and passionate horsewoman is flying in from France to promote her book. She is an American, who spent the first half of her life riding competitively in Show Jumping, Hunters, and Dressage on the east coast, with time leftover spent in the hunt field. The second half of her professional life was spent in Normandie, France, as a coach in Show Jumping. She has been most noted as a pedagogue, and as a trainer of top-level riders. She has trained with Karl Mikolka (SRS), and Reiner Klimke in Dressage, Francis Rowe in Show Jumpers and profited from a lifelong close friendship with Jack le Goff (coach of the USA event team). Her passion for the Hunt was enriched by close association with Thady Ryan (Scarteen), Bun and Becky Sharp (Nantucket – Trewaryn Beagles) and Christian Meunier (Chardonnay).
In fact, all aspects of Horse Sport take place in Julie’s book: half autobiography and half theory involving the training of horse and rider.
