Things to Do in Middleburg This Weekend

“Protect Yourself from Scams & Frauds” at the Parish House at Emmanuel Episcopal Church: March 1 | 11 a.m.

Karen DiFederico from BB&T will present on how to recognize the red flags that signal a scam, how to protect yourself, and what do if, in spite of all your best efforts, you become a victim. There will be time for Q&A after Karen’s presentation. All are invited to stay for lunch and fellowship.

Karen is an assistant vice president and market leader with BB&T. She has managed the Middleburg office since January 2017 and has been with BB&T for seven years. Karen served in the Marine Corps for two years as an Arabic linguist and graduated from Hood College with a degree in history and Middle Eastern studies. She lives in Centreville with her husband, two children, and two spoiled dogs.

There is no cost for the presentation or lunch. All are welcome; bring a friend!

 

Fox/Hound Basketball at Foxcroft School: March 1-2

Come cheer for the Foxes and the Hounds in the annual battle for The Cup! The fun begins on Friday with the Little Game at 2:30 p.m. and the Middle Game at 3:30 p.m. The Big Sing Sing will be Friday at 9 p.m. Than, on Saturday, the Big Game will be at 11 a.m. Go Foxes! Go Hounds!

 

Raid the Cellar at Salamander Resort & Spa: March 2 | Noon-4 p.m.

Stop by Salamander’s pop-up wine shop in the cooking studio and stock up your wine cellar! You will be able to purchase from a wide selection of domestic and international wines. For more information, please call 540-326-4070.

 

Sunday Sketch with Gail Guirreri-Maslyk at National Sporting Library & Museum: March 3 | 2-4 p.m.

Middleburg HEALth Fair & 5K at the Middleburg Community Center: March 30 | 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

The HEALth Fair celebrates Middleburg’s adoption of the National Healthy Eating and Active Living (HEAL) resolution and will be held in the Ballroom and Terrace Room of the Middleburg Community Center. Sign up to run the 5K here. The HEALth Fair will include a presentation on the power of music therapy by A Place to Be and a screening of the film “Styrofoam Mom” with a presentation and Q&A by its author and producer, Miriam Gennari.
