21 Things to Do in Middleburg This Weekend
— Middleburg is Open Late this Friday! Open Late Friday: July 26
The Town of Middleburg is excited to announce the latest opportunity to experience the best in small-town shopping, dining and cultural arts. In partnership with the successful Open Late Concert Series held at the National Sporting Library & Museum, the town’s local shops and businesses will be open late on the last Friday of the month. The inaugural “Open Late Friday!” will occur on Friday, July 26. More than 25 retail shops, restaurants, craft beverage locations and art galleries will be open until at least 9 p.m.
The Open Late Concert Series occurs from 6-8 p.m. at the National Sporting Library & Museum and is free to all. Visitors are encouraged to come early and stay late. Parking is available at the National Sporting Library & Museum, at the town’s public parking lots and throughout Middleburg with free street parking.
Visitors can participate in sharing their great Middleburg experiences using the hashtag #OpenLate. Visit middleburgva.gov for more information, including a list of participating businesses.

Grand Opening at Old Ox Brewery: July 27 | Noon-6 p.m.
Come celebrate the opening of Old Ox Brewery‘s Middleburg location with us! Join us on Saturday, July 27, from noon-6 p.m. for special beers, a backlot BBQ, live music and yard games. Old Ox has brewed two new beers aged in red wine barrels just for the Middleburg tasting room: Middleburg Apricot Blonde and Middleburg Blonde.
Come early! The first 100 people will get a free Old Ox koozie! And the ceremonial tapping of the first keg takes place at noon. We can’t wait to celebrate Old Ox’s new location with our friends and new neighbors!

Live Sculpting at The Artists in Middleburg: July 29 | Noon-5 p.m.
Middleburg’s bronze fox sculpture is ready to begin! Come meet sculpture artist Goksin Carey at the Aim Gallery on Monday, July 29, from noon-5 p.m. as she and her students will commence the sculpture of the bronze fox. The sculpting will take approximately one month, but you can drop in the gallery as it’s being made and experience this old world art form from start to finish. After the fox is completed, it will be taken to a local foundry where a bronze will be cast.

Reptiles Alive at the Middleburg Library: July 30 | 10:30-11:15 a.m.
Colorful live reptiles presented by an engaging and kid-friendly wildlife educator make a Reptiles Alive show fun for all ages! Enjoy exciting stories about how the animals survive while meeting an exotic cast of snakes, lizards, turtles and other amazing animals.

Middleburg’s Summer Sidewalk Sale: Aug. 2-4
Hunt for some wonderful bargains for yourself and your loved ones this weekend while experiencing the small town charm of Middleburg during our 13th annual Sidewalk Sale on Aug. 2-4! The sale will be held Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday as posted by shops.
The sale coincides with Virginia’s tax-free weekend. From Aug. 2-4, you can buy qualifying school supplies, clothing, footwear, hurricane and emergency preparedness items, and select energy-efficient products without paying state and local sales taxes on those items. You can find out more about what items qualify for the tax exemption at tax.virginia.gov.
You can also enter a raffle for a gift basket with a receipt showing $50+ proof of purchase during the sale from a participating store.
