The Byrne Gallery is hosting a special reception for the artists of its latest exhibition on Friday, July 12, from 4-7 p.m. The reception is open to the public and everyone is cordially invited to attend.
“Endless Summer,” a celebration of summer at its best, features the newest paintings by Gerald Hennsey and Lida Matheson Stifel. The exhibit offers viewers a taste of the seaside as well as the countryside — both wonderful ways to experience the joy of blue skies and warm weather. The exhibition runs through Sunday, Aug. 18.

Part one of their wine education series will cover wine making, proper tastings, etiquette and Boxwood varietal characteristics, accompanied by cheese and charcuterie. This 2-day pastel workshop with Lori Goll is open to all levels and styles.
The workshop will start with discussions and demonstrations of different brands of soft pastels, various substitutes, underpainting techniques, and framing options. Day two will continue on to develop underpainting techniques. Students will also learn to plan our their compositions as well as methods of transferring their subject matter onto a working surface.
Day one subject matter will focus on seascapes, while day two subject matter will focus on animals.
Cost: $200 for full workshop session. Artists must provide their own materials.
