It’s time to vote!

Washington Fine Properties Middleburg VA— Get ready to vote, Middleburg! We’re looking for your input for the Middleburg Business and Professional Association’s annual awards ceremony.

These awards recognize members of the Middleburg community who go above and beyond to make a difference in our town. This year’s categories are: Volunteer of the Year, Customer Service Award, Town Spirit Award and Power of One Award.

You do not need to be a member of the Middleburg Business and Professional Association (MBPA) to vote, and the nominees don’t need to members either. This is your chance to help us celebrate our community by recognizing those who make it such a special place.

Nominations must be received by Oct. 28. You can vote online by clicking here.

Winners of the awards will be announced at the December Biz Buzz at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church Parish House.

Also up for voting right now: The Middleburg Business and Professional Association is looking to fill two open seats on its board of directors for a two-year term (Jan. 1, 2017-Dec. 31, 2018). This election is open to MBPA members in good standing only (meaning those who’ve paid their dues for 2016).

The candidates are Bob Ball of Middleburg Millwork Inc., Edwina Bell of Middleburg Academy, Maggie Johnston of Bank of Charles Town and Deltone Moore of Popcorn Monkey.

To vote, please email with “VOTE” in the subject line of the email. In the body of your email, please list the two candidates you’re voting for as well as your name and business affiliation. Each member organization may vote once. Ballots must be submitted by Oct. 21.

The winners of the MBPA board election will be announced at the next Biz Buzz to be held Nov. 11 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Middleburg Bank.

At the most recent Biz Buzz, held Oct. 11 at Washington Fine Properties, MBPA announced the winners of its construction-themed window decorating contest. Middleburg Common Grounds took home the grand prize with its coffee break construction zone, and Stitch was named the runner-up.

Also announced at the Biz Buzz were two upcoming events you’ll want to put on your calendar:

  • Children’s Parade (Oct. 31 | 5 p.m.): The Middleburg Business and Professional Association will be leading a children’s parade through downtown on Halloween. Participants should meet at the Middleburg Community Center. The parade will start at 5 p.m. and return to the community center in time for MCC’s “Hot Dog, It’s Halloween!”
  • Block Party (Nov. 5 | 5-7 p.m.): The Middleburg Business and Professional Association is hosting a block party on S. Madison St. on Nov. 5. There will be music, food and more. Join us to celebrate!

We will see you at the next Biz Buzz!
