— The Town of Middleburg and MBPA will be lining Washington Street with living Christmas trees in front of Town businesses.

These trees will be delivered prior to Dec. 3 and will be delivered with white lights. These trees should line and light the sidewalks of Middleburg from Dec. 4 (the evening of official town tree lighting) until Jan. 1.

We highly encourage each shop and local business to “sponsor” their tree and decorate for the season. They can be decorated in theme with your holiday windows, business theme, or any festive décor of your choosing. We hope these will add delight and visual impact for our visitors and residents alike this holiday season.

Each tree will still have its root ball and will ultimately be up for “adoption” after the holiday season. This will allow visitors and residents to bid on their favorite tree, via an auction-based website, and take it home to plant. Please note that all proceeds from tree auctions will go to a local charity.

If you have any questions about the trees or require further details, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Jamie Gaucher at the Middleburg Town Office via jgaucher@middleburgva.gov.
