Oktoberfest is coming to Middleburg

— There’s something new brewing in Middleburg. The town is planning to host a new Oktoberfest celebration on Sept. 21 in conjunction with Art in the Burg this year.

“Mark you calendars and look for some additional information about that,” said Jamie Gaucher, Middleburg’s business and economic development director. “We’re really excited about that.”

The announcement came as part of the Middleburg Business and Professional Association’s monthly Biz Buzz networking event, held July 9 at Buchanan Hall.

The meeting also focused on several other new developments in town, including the openings of Old Ox Brewery, Purple Cherry Architects and Atelier Design & Decor. Other businesses expected to open soon include Greenheart Juice Shop, Middleburg Bride and Chloe’s of Middleburg.

Other changes in store for the town include the relocation of Le Boudoir to South Madison Street and the liquidation of Wisdom Gallery. Gallery owner Pauline Wisdom passed away last month after suffering from a stroke. A service is planned for September.

“We’ll all miss her,” said MBPA President Punkin Lee.
