Middleburg Business and Professional Association to host May job fair

— The Middleburg Business and Professional Association plans to host a job fair at the Middleburg Community Center on May 16 for Middleburg-based businesses seeking to fill various positions, giving job seekers the opportunity to network with various employers.

The job fair was announced at MBPA’s Feb. 13 Biz Buzz networking event, held at the National Sporting Library & Museum. Businesses that are interested in participating in the job fair should contact Business & Economic Development Director Jamie Gaucher at jgaucher@middleburgva.gov or 540-687-5152. A survey regarding the job fair will be sent to MBPA members to gather input on what types of jobs Middleburg businesses are trying to fill.

“We’re going to open up the event attendance for everybody and anybody that wants to come there if they’re interested in employment, but the event itself is going to be curtailed specifically to Middleburg businesses, so we’re excited about that,” Gaucher said. “We haven’t done that before, We’re looking forward to a strong turnout.”

The Biz Buzz was also an opportunity to highlight some other new happenings in town, such as the opening of Red Bar Sushi and 13 new members of MBPA, including Certified Humane, Artists in Middleburg and TuDane Farm. Also new to the burg: Dan Morgan, the new pastor of Middleburg Baptist Church.

The evening also highlighted several upcoming events at the National Sporting Library & Museum, including the exhibits “A Sporting Vision: The Paul Mellon Collection of British Sporting Art from the VMFA” (April 13-July 22) and “Sidesaddle, 1890-1935” (Sept. 7, 2018-March 24, 2019), the 8th Annual Polo Classic at Great Meadow on Sept. 9, and the museum’s “Open Late” concerts this summer.
