The Byrne Gallery in Middleburg is pleased to present “Winter Landscapes,” oil paintings by Gerald Hennesy on exhibit throughout the month of January. Come celebrate the beauty of winter in the wooded countryside of Virginia! Snowy creeks and hill top vistas glisten with the magical light and blue shadows of a delightful winter afternoon. Included in this exhibition are local scenes of both Loudoun and Fauquier counties featuring scenes of Goose Creek and the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Mr. Hennesy, noted Virginia impressionist painter, has had numerous shows at The Byrne Gallery over the years and has exhibited locally and nationally for over 60 years having graduated from The Corcoran School of Art in 1940. A master of composition and the landscape, he paints rather rapidly, while attempting to achieve a freshness of color and expressiveness in his brushwork. He is particularly concerned with depicting the effect of light on his landscapes.
Please join us for visit during the month of January. The show is open and continues through Sunday, Feb. 2.
