“Assistive Technology: From Low-Tech to High-Tech” at Emmanuel Episcopal Church

Lori Daly from Diversifi Consulting Group and Debbie Jones of Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons (NVRC) will present and facilitate a discussion and demonstration of assistive technology devices, including talking watches, magnifiers, and computer products.*
What are hearing assistive technologies?
- Amplified telephones, captioned telephones and videophones for the home, to apps to bring those functions to our smartphones
- Doorbells that flash lights or send signals to our hand-held devices, to alarm clocks that shake the bed
- Listening systems and captioning devices in movie theaters, to live captioning and remote interpreting services in classrooms and meeting rooms
Time for Q&A will follow the presentation.
The presentation begins at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at noon.
