— It’s summertime, and one of our favorite ways to enjoy the sunshine and beauty of Virginia’s horse country is listening to live music in the great outdoors. Here are some of the best places in Middleburg to catch some tunes this summer!
Lost Barrel Brewing features live music most Friday and Saturday evenings, so you can enjoy some of your favorite local brews while you listen. Featured musicians include Jim Steele, Robert Mabe, Chris Bone, and Luke Andrews. With music spanning rock, pop and country from the 50s to today, these live concerts are sure to please! Bring your picnic basket and enjoy a free concert on the lawn at the National Sporting Library & Museum. This year’s concert lineup includes the Bryan Shepherd Country Band on July 30 and the Silver Tones Swing Band on Aug. 27. These events are free and open to the public; concessions are available. Leashed pets are welcome, and there is free parking on-site. Plus, the museum will be open late with no charge for admission!
The place to go for live music on Sundays is Salamander Resort & Spa. This weekly event on Gold Cup’s terrace allows you to enjoy sensational views of the Virginia countryside and the summer sun while feasting on Gold Cup’s fresh al fresco menu, spoil yourself with their seasonal beverages and taking in the sounds of an acoustic guitarist. July’s lineup includes Hunter Lott on July 18 and Shariff el Mahdi on July 25.
