Mother’s Day Weekend at 50 West Vineyards: May 13-14

Spend the day with mom and the family surrounded by beautiful scenery, live music and great wine! To celebrate Mother’s Day, they’re adding the 2016 Rosé to the tasting menu. Looking for a little something different? Try the Sangria! Pair your wine or sangria with fresh baked bread, a variety of cheeses and cured meats, plus tapenades made from their wine – you can’t go wrong!

Gallery Talk at the National Sporting Library & Museum

Each week, NSLM staff will give attendees a personalized sneak peek at traveling exhibitions, permanent collections, and the fascinating stories behind the works in the museum’s art collections. No two tours are alike, so come back for more! Reservations are not required and admission is free. Bring your friends! Gallery talks are every Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Concert on the Steps at the Middleburg Community Center: May 19 | 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Join us for an evening filled with free fun, music by Bryan Fox, food, drinks and good company!

Revolutionary War Caravan Tour with the Mosby Heritage Area Association: May 20 | 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Join historian John Maass as he recites stories from Anthony Wayne’s march to the interior of Virginia and leads you along Wayne’s route. Some of the tour stops include Haymarket, Greenwich, Crockett Park, Elk Run Church and more.

This program will be conducted in a car caravan; carpooling is highly encouraged. Bottled water will be provided along the route, but please bring your own lunch. There will be a stop for a picnic lunch. The program will begin at 9 a.m. at the Church of Our Saviour Oatlands, 20340 James Monroe Highway, Leesburg, VA. The tour will conclude at Elk Run Church by 3:00 p.m.

Art in the Burg: May 20 | 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Over 20 artists will have their artworks for sale, plus there will be live music by Jamie Potter of Crooked Angels.

The Land Trust of Virginia’s 19th Annual Garden Party at Wind Fields Farm: May 20 | 4-7 p.m.

Join the Land Trust of Virginia at Wind Fields Farm, the historic 463-acre estate of Timothy and Therese Harmon, for an afternoon celebrating conservation efforts to save Virginia’s natural and cultural heritage. An Evening with James Monroe at Aldie Mill: June 3 | 7 p.m.

Join the Aldie Heritage Association as they welcome Colonel James Monroe back to Aldie, a place he knew well during his years in residence at nearby Oak Hill. Colonel Monroe, in his post presidential years, will look back on his exemplary career, with commentary on his retirement at Oak Hill and his business interaction with Aldie Mills. $20 per person, including a reception following the program.
